Bangka Belitung Islands Government Ensures Sufficient Fuel Supply During G20

Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) – The Bangka Belitung Islands Government has ensured sufficient fuel oil supply during the G20 Development Working Group (DWG) event in Belitung Island from September 7-9, 2022.

“We thank Pertamina for increasing the fuel oil supply to ensure the success of the G20 in Belitung Island,” acting governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Ridwan Djamaluddin, told Pangkalpinang on Saturday.

Djamaluddin said other measures adopted by Pertamina included the development of infrastructure and human resources in Belitung and East Belitung with the aim of further ensuring that the world-class event is a success.

“Adding facilities and human resources to this service station will definitely further improve services to avoid vehicle queues for G20 attendees and the public,” he said.

The manager of the commercial branch PT. Pertamina Patra Niaga, South Sumatra region, Reiner Bontong remarked that Pertamina had prepared fuel terminal facilities and increased the number of human resources to cater for 500 vehicles for G20 participants, committees of events and the local population.

“We prepared in terms of order, cleanliness and stock readiness of each service station (for this period) during the G20 event,” he remarked.

He explained that the estimated percentage increase of 15% was expected for gasoline, which is a combination of pertalite and pertamax. In contrast, the estimate for diesel or diesel for diesel engines was 6%.

“The estimate for the fuel addition is measured from the average daily distribution when (the situation) is normal. Preparations for this addition will begin from September 4 to 10, 2022, after the G20 series is over,” said Bontong said.
