Los Angeles, June 26 (IANS) Actor Hayden Christensen says his life went “crazy” from the minute he was confirmed for ‘Star Wars’.
Playing Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in the sci-fi franchise’s prequel trilogy, the 41-year-old actor just reprized the role in the new Disney+ spin-off series, “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” alongside Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi Master, reports aceshowbiz.com.
And having the spotlight on him before the release of the first film, 2002’s “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones,” prepared him for what was to come.
Speaking on ‘The Jess Cagle Podcast’, Hayden said: “It was a crazy time, everything started to change right after it was announced that I was going to be playing this role.”
“There was kind of all this attention and I hadn’t even made the movie yet, the movie hadn’t even come out, which kind of allowed me to have some perspective and realize that I was part of that thing that kind of got all this attention,” he added.
Despite his newfound fame, the ‘American Heist’ star said it was “an exciting adventure” and he has “only fond memories” of his time working on blockbusters.
After the release of the third movie “Return of the Sith” in 2005, Hayden decided to take a step back from acting and moved to the countryside.
He continued: “My sister had actually moved to the countryside before me and I just enjoyed spending my time with her and always had a certain affection for that environment which was only a matter of time.”
