Elliott Mortuary and Crematorium

Our dad, Larie Gene Miles, 83, returned home to our Lord Jesus Christ, whom he has faithfully served his entire life, on December 18, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born on August 27, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Lawrence “Buck” and Arietta M. (Brewer) Miles.

Larie attended Hutchinson schools. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963. Larie worked as a machinist at Consolidated Manufacturing for over 20 years. He was also a licensed minister in the Assemblies of God and enjoyed playing the piano and singing for church services as well as for services in local nursing homes. Larie loved to fish and watch trains, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Larie’s faith was most important, expressed in her membership in Eleventh Avenue Chapel and in her support of the Open Door Pregnancy Care Center.

On July 14, 1969, Larie married Della Akins. They later divorced. He then married Pat Hanneman on February 14, 1981. She died on December 23, 2011. On November 6, 2020, Larie married Jean Brown, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Visitations will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Tuesday, December 27-28, with family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Elliott Mortuary. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Elliott Chapel. The coffin will remain closed.
