(Reuters) – Peloton Interactive Inc CEO John Foley on Thursday asked owners of its treadmills to check safety warnings after a child dies in an accident involving the company’s exercise equipment .
“While we are only aware of a small handful of incidents involving Tread + where children have been injured, each one is devastating for all of us at Peloton,” Foley said in a letter to the owners of Peloton Tread +.
“To avoid accidents, please take care to read and follow all warnings and safety instructions we provide,” he said.
Foley also expressed his and Peloton’s condolences to the victim’s family.
The company’s shares fell 2.9% to $ 104.73 in afternoon trading.
