Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner said the Lincoln County – Lancaster Narcotics Task Force was following Crime Stoppers advice. The suspect was in a vehicle when they made contact with the individual. It was determined that the suspect had a weapon and that there had been a fight outside the vehicle.
At least one shot was fired by a Nebraska State Patrol soldier. The suspect was taken to hospital in critical condition. This happened in the driveway of an apartment building.
The soldier involved is on leave as the investigation begins.
The police will probably be there until the early hours of the morning.
Lincoln Police are investigating 20th and G.
Scanner reports show shots were fired at a Nebraska State Patrol soldier during a traffic stop around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday.
Subsequent reports showed that one person was on the ground and that CPR was in progress. This person is not supposed to be law enforcement.
One person was taken to hospital in critical condition.
