progress of Indian agriculture | Working together to achieve the Zero Hunger goal

India is endowed with great potential to produce different varieties of food products due to its various agro-climatic conditions. Therefore, the government focused on enriching the diet of the citizens.

At the G-20 Agriculture Ministers meeting, the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare focused on reintroducing traditional foods into the diet of the population . These food products include millet, nutritious grains, fruits, vegetables, fish, dairy products and organic products.

He also informed that the production of these products has been phenomenal in India and that India is emerging as a destination country for healthy food.

It should be noted that the United Nations accepted the Indian government’s proposal and declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millet. He was called on to nations to support the celebration of the Year of Millet to promote nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
